Spasticity & Movement Partners Opens in Englewood, New Jersey, Offering Specialized Care for Movement Disorders

Spasticity & Movement Partners, a specialty rehabilitation practice founded by Dr. David Park, has opened its doors in Englewood, New Jersey, offering focused care for individuals living with spasticity and complex movement challenges. Located at 15 Engle St, Suite 106, the practice aims to provide a personalized path forward for patients seeking to reduce pain, improve mobility, and regain confidence in daily life.

Spasticity can affect many aspects of daily life, from walking and dressing to hygiene, transfers, sleep, and caregiver support. For many patients, understanding the cause of tightness, stiffness, spasms, or reduced mobility can be overwhelming. Spasticity & Movement Partners was created to make that process clearer and more collaborative, centered around each patient's real-life goals.

At the helm is Dr. David Park, a board-certified physiatrist with advanced training in physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain management, and spasticity-focused care. Dr. Park earned his medical degree through Boston University's accelerated seven-year BA/MD program, completed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Tufts Medical Center, where he served as chief resident, and pursued advanced fellowship training in pain management in Manhattan. His clinical approach combines medical expertise with a strong commitment to patient education and long-term partnership.

“Spasticity care should never be one-size-fits-all,” says Dr. Park. “Every patient has a different story, different challenges, and different goals. My vision for this practice was to create a place where patients and caregivers receive clear answers, thoughtful treatment options, and a plan built around what matters most to them.”

The practice offers comprehensive spasticity assessments, including neurologic and musculoskeletal evaluation, range of motion testing, gait analysis, and structured goal setting. Treatment options include oral medications such as baclofen, tizanidine, and diazepam when clinically appropriate, as well as targeted procedures like botulinum toxin injections (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Myobloc), phenol nerve blocks, and diagnostic nerve blocks, often guided by ultrasound or electromyography for precision. For severe spasticity, intrathecal baclofen pump management is available, including pump refills and dose adjustments.

A defining feature of Spasticity & Movement Partners is its commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration. The practice works with physical and occupational therapists, neurologists, primary care physicians, orthopedic and neurosurgical specialists, speech-language pathologists, and other care team members to support coordinated management. Treatment success is measured not just by reduced muscle tone but by helping patients achieve functional goals, such as walking farther, transferring safely, or reducing pain.

Caregivers are also a focus, with the practice offering education and a collaborative model that respects their perspective. By involving caregivers as part of the team, Spasticity & Movement Partners aims to improve communication and create treatment plans that fit home life realities.

Spasticity & Movement Partners enters the Northern New Jersey healthcare market with a vision to become a trusted leader in spasticity-focused rehabilitation, where personalized treatment meets innovation, and clinical expertise is paired with empathy.
